Life of Muse was born from a deeply personal place.

I'm Jade — a 23-year-old Black woman from Dallas, Texas with 4B natural hair. Growing up, I noticed something that frustrated me: there were no stores truly dedicated to curly and kinky hair textures. Not in my city. Not in the way we deserved.

I've cut my hair four times in my life. And every single time, I missed my length. I missed the fullness. But what I didn't miss? The compromise.

When I modeled, I'd get my hair pressed straight to match extensions that were never made for my texture. Then the heat, the sweat, the humidity — and just like that, my natural curl pattern would come back, clashing with the straight hair I'd added in. It never felt like me.

I wanted something different. I wanted hair that felt like mine — no matter the weather, no matter the style, no matter the moment. Hair that moved with me, not against me.
